Rejected from App store, Wi-Fi Sync is now available for jail broken iPhones. You need to pay 9.99$ to use it. Currently mac version is available for download. If you are a windows user, you need to wait for couple of months.

CallClear – delete individual call record

iPhone OS 3.0 has provided lots of features that were missing in earlier version of iPhone OS. There is still a missing feature for deleting individuate call record. I have used weTool to perform this action in past. It seems that weTool is no longer available for iPhone OS 3 onward.
CallClear is a replacement for weTool up to some extent. It allows you to delete individual call record one by one from call history. CallClear is available on Cydia.

Repair corrupt cycorder movie file

I am big fan of cycorder video recorder. Recorder very well adds the missing feature of recording in iPhone 2G, 3G.
It really sucks at times when one records a video and try to play this and it displays a message that video can’t be played.
As of now there is no solution present as per my knowledge . There is some hope after seeing road map on Saurik’s site. It may take a month or two for the next release. So don’t delete your important videos, which are corrupted. You can be able to play them after a while .

MMS – Another Reason to Jailbreak iPhone 2G

With OS 3.0, iPhone 3G users got MMS feature along with many awaited features. iPhone 2G users got all the features except MMS.
I don’t know the exact reason why Apple has not provided this to iPhone 2G users. There is no harware limitation for this feature in iPhone 2G.
There is app available for activating MMS in jail broken iPhone 2G. To activate MMS on jail broken iPhone, follow the instructions below.
1. Open Cydia and go to search tab.
2. Type ActivateMMS2G in search box and you’ll get ActivateMMS2G application from iSpazio.
3. Tap on install and confirm the installation.
4. After successful installation, Cydia will exit and reboot the device.
5. Go to Message application, you’ll notice camera icon.
6. Take some picture or use any existing picture from your galary. Send it to your friends.
7. Done!!!

Copy paste in iPhone: hClipboard

hClipboard is another copy paste application in jailbroken iPhones. To install this application, go to
1. Cydia installer (Make sure that you have 2.2 firmware)
2. Search for “hclipboard”
3. You’ll see it listed in the search result.
4. Install the application.

To enable hClipboard, Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > International > Enable hClipboard.
After enabling hClipboard, you’ll find a globe symbol in keyboard window. Tap on it and start playing with it. It stores text in two forms. One as clipboard and another in the form of template. You can store up to 10 clipboards and deleted the unwanted in iPhone’s native way of deleting a text. Though you don’t have any limitation in templates. You can store as many as you wants, this can be used in storing email, mobile number or user name for some sites which you use very frequently.

There is no doubt that in terms of functionality it is the most advance application present so far but I didn’t like the technique it used to select text. Its doesn’t meet iPhone standards. Clippy is another copy/paste application which uses better technique to select text.

Flash Player plugin for iPhone mobile Safari

You can play videos (flv) in safari now. There is iMobileCinema plugin available which can help you play flash (flv format) videos in safari. I think this is something which we all have been waiting for. Follow below steps to integrate the plugin in your browser:

1. First you need to have 2.x ver of firmware.
2. Add source d.imobilecinema.com in Cydia.
3. Install iMobileCinema application from Multimedia section in Cydia.
4. It is advisable to restart your mobile after installation is complete.

Your mobile is ready for playing videos in safari now. You can test it by opening any video which is marked playable (marked with play sign) in youtube site. Thank you.

Every time I press iPhone’s home button to know the time. I get a very nice quote on the screen. This is one of the best uses of locked iPhone screen.
You need to have a jail broken iPhone having firmware 2.X.
I assume that you have installed WinterBoard already in your iPhone. To install “Famous Quotes Widget”, open your Cydia installer and search for “Famous Quotes Widget”.
You’ll get widget in search result. Now follow the instruction to install this widget.
After successful installation, open WinterBoard application and enable the widget and you are done.

This widget for WinterBoard contains hundreds of quotes and each time you lock your iPhone/iPhone touch a new one is displayed. Works on tops of other Lock screen themes.

Are you fed up with original iPhone icons and wallpapers or just upgraded to iPhone 2.X and missing SummerBoard desperately?
For those who don’t know about SummerBoard. Here is a brief history of it. It’s an application which runs on iPhone and can change icons, background, title bar and dock etc.
SummerBoard was developed by Nullriver. Company sold SummerBoard license to a new company RIP dev. RIP dev is now selling SummerBoard for ~45$ for lifetime subscription and this application is now called Kate.
Don’t worry if you don’t want to throw money for such application. Saurik has developed WinterBoard. This is more powerful that the original SummerBoard.

How to install?
1. Make sure that you have upgraded to iPhone 2.x
2. Open Cydia.
3. Tap on Section.
4. Find “WinterBoard” on this section.
5. Install it and reboot the system.

Use of WinterBoard will be covered soon. This will include
1. Using existing themes in WinterBoard
2. Downloading new themes
3. Applying multiple themes simultaneously.
