What does iPad lack?

February 11th, 2010 Arvind No comments

1. Camera: No camera for clicking pics, recording video or doing a video chat.
2. USB support: Since it doesn’t have camera to click snaps or record video. There should be an easy way to put your album or data into it. USB at present is the best option.
3. Flash support: Apple claims that in majority of cases flash is a culprit of breaking down Mac OS. It may be, but the fact is that Flash is used very widely now-a-days. People are migrating their sites to flash.
4. Multitasking: Perhaps the biggest disappointment, you can’t watch video while reading out a document in Pages.

Google has made a short file on making of Nexus One. Two parts out of five of this film are available to watch. I just finished watching first and second parts. I like the noise cancellation technology very much.

Part 1 – Concept & Design

Part 2 – Display and 3D framework

Latest information of Google Nexus One can be found at Google Nexus One YouTube channel.

Apple started testing iPhone 2.2

August 23rd, 2009 Arvind No comments

New iPhone software upgrade 2.2 will be rolled out as soon as it becomes stable. In this upgrade
1. Push e-mail to iPhone or iPod touch will be restored.
2. This upgrade will also improve on GPS functionalities.
3. We’ll see new Safari browser having search beside the address bar and it will be always visible.
I wish that we can have Copy and Paste functionality in coming upgrades. I don’t think this is difficult to implement, but still we haven’t have this important feature in it.

There will be some existing bug fixes. I don’t have exact detail as of now. I’ll write it here again as soon as I get some thing new.

Recording video from iPhone

August 23rd, 2009 Arvind No comments

Sometime I really feel unhappy about all the iPhone users. Poor guys don’t have a video recorder in iPhone. Being a very revolutionary and advance phone, It doesn’t have a video recorder. We have a second version of iPhone out in the market and still, the very important feature of recording video is missing. Thanks to 3rd party application developers. They have done written a video recorder for you. If you have installed cydia or installer, you can easily search iPhone Video Recorder and you’ll get it. This is not free software. You need to pay for it. If you want to use it for free then there is a crack available for it.
View this video and follow the instructions

Don’t forget to set the permission of newly copied file to 0755. To set permission of file in winSCP, right click on the file you want to update the permission, now click on properties. You’ll see a permission window. Update permission to new permissions. Click on ‘Ok’. Restart iPhone and you are ready with video recorder in iPhone. Enjoy!!!

New in iPhone 2.1 version

August 23rd, 2009 Arvind No comments

Bit of relief to Apple users, they have finally a stable (so far) release. This release fixes few important missing features. I strongly recommend all of you to update
to 2.1 iPhone version. Don’t worry if you have jailbreak your iPhone and scared of updating to iPhone 2.1. I would suggest go far it.
I have done it and happy to see few good changes.

1. Finally Apple admitted and tried to fix their call drop problem, which they were throwing away by saying network problem. So in this release they have fixed call failure and call drop issues.

2. If your iPhone is stolen or lost and someone wants to misuse it as you might have stored important information then you need not worry too much. Your data is useless for others. The only required condition is that you have setup pass code. So if someone tries to unlock more than 10 times. iPhone will erase all the data automatically. Be careful, this might get back to you sometimes.

3. Fixed some crash and hang bugs because of 3rd party software.

4. I would really appreciate this fix. They have drastically reduced iTune backup time. Earlier it used to be from 2 mins to an hour or so but now its 90 sec only. This is really one fix that can make you to update to latest version.

5. This could get you bit relief if you are always complaining about battery life. This release includes some fixes to improve battery life.

6. Faster installation of 3rd party software.

7. Repeat alert up to 2 more times for incoming SMS.
